What We Offer

Our approach to professional learning can be tailored to meet the unique needs of any school while incorporating evidence-based practices drawn from the science of professional learning. Our model of professional learning combines initial training with ongoing coaching and collaboration designed to support schools in implementing high-quality literacy curriculum.

1

Training

Face-to-face and virtual training sessions on a range of topics (see Our Expertise), including half-day, full-day, or multi-day face-to-face workshops at your school or virtual webinars ranging from one hour to multiple hours with breakouts. Our training sessions are hands-on and foster engagement with curriculum resources that teachers and school leaders can use as soon as they return to their school or classroom.

2

Coaching

A range of instructional coaching options, including modeling of effective practices, co-teaching (parallel teaching, team teaching), and classroom observations or walkthroughs with specific and targeted feedback. Our coaching is ongoing and provided in collaboration with school leaders, such as assistant principals or literacy coaches, to build capacity for supporting instructional improvement all year long.

3

Curriculum

Training on evidence-based practices that can be implemented with any literacy curriculum as well as training on evidence-based programs. We also provide research-based guidance to teachers and school leaders on how to select a literacy curriculum for any grade level that includes research-based practices. Examples of curriculum resources on which we provide direct support include Differentiated Reading Instruction (Grades K-3), Differentiated Literacy Instruction (Grades 4-5), Read STOP Write (Grades 4-9), and Literacy Instruction with Disciplinary Texts (Grades 6-12).

4

Collaboration

Collaboration support during professional learning community (PLC) meetings, grade-level team meetings, department meetings, and leadership team meetings. We provide resources and facilitate discussions to build shared understanding of instructional goals, develop plans for assessment and instructional improvement, and make data-based decisions to support the literacy development of all learners.
